Why WWE Refused to Release Neville When He Asked to Leave in 2017, Rumor Killer On Kevin Owens WWE Return Plans
A rumor has been floating around the internet claiming Kevin Owens is set to return to WWE with Paul Heyman as his manager, but according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is no validity to the rumor.
Why WWE Refused to Release Neville When He Asked to Leave in 2017
As we noted over the weekend, former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville has officially been granted his release from WWE, after requesting his release from the company back in October 2017.
With regards to WWE allowing Neville to sit at home for 10 months without granting him the release, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports WWE did not want to set a precedent that talents could simply walk out of their contracts and head elsewhere, with the feeling being that Neville would have wound up signing with New Japan. So, instead of granting the Cruiserweight his release from the company when he asked for it last October, WWE froze his contract and made him wait out the duration of the deal. Neville is now an unrestricted free agent able to sign with any company should he choose to do so.
