WWE announced a couple of weeks ago that Becky Lynch will put the SmackDown Women’s Championship on the line in a TLC match against Charlotte Flair and Asuka at their upcoming TLC pay-per-view. Most fans assumed that this meant that Lynch had been cleared to return from her injuries, but some newer reports have stated that Becky may not be completely ready to get back into action yet. In the newest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was mentioned that Lynch has been cleared of any signs of a concussion, but not from the nasal fracture that was caused by a legitimate punch from Nia Jax. Fortunately, the company suspects that she will still be ready to go by TLC on December 16th.
Impact Wrestling could end up leaving their current network, Pop TV, at some point in 2019. Anthem Sports & Entertainment officials have reportedly been having talks with multiple networks about moving Impact over, but it looks like any attempts at a potential deal being signed have been unsuccessful thus far. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter states that Impact officials have had meetings with the SyFy, TruTV, and WGN America stations, as well as with BeIN Sports. The issue with the latter is that BeIN already airs Major League Wrestling right now. Although Impact’s current deal with Pop TV expires at the end of the year, the show will continue to air on the network until Anthem decides to either stay or leave in 2019.
It was tragically reported yesterday that Tommy “Dynamite Kid” Billington passed away at the age of 60. The Dynamite Kid was praised for his work by several fans and members of the industry throughout his career Several wrestlers have posted their own tributes to Billington on social media over the past few hours, and Raw Superstar Natalya delivered a nice homage to The Dynamite Kid during a WWE live event in Santiago, Chile last night. Natalya hit one of Billington’s signature moves on Sarah Logan during a six-woman tag team match also featuring Ember Moon, Bayley, and the rest of The Riott Squad. The Dynamite Kid teamed up with Natalya’s uncle, Davey Boy Smith, to form The British Bulldogs back in the day.
