Lt. James Held advanced to the rank of captain, Sgt. Joshua Marquis was promoted to lieutenant, and Officer Michael Roszko moved up to sergeant.

Following a lengthy career with the New York City Police Department, during which he earned 16 department medals, worked at Ground Zero on Sept. 11, 2001, and assisted in the recovery efforts in the weeks following the attacks, Held was hired in Enfield in 2006 and assigned to the patrol division. He was promoted to detective in 2010, to sergeant in 2016, and to lieutenant in 2021.

He is also a two-time recipient of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) awards.

He became a field training officer in 2015, has trained several new recruits and assisted in training newly-promoted sergeants. He has served as a department and academy instructor in the areas of firearms, crowd control, spike strip, the Drager breath machine, and DUI detection and enforcement.

Marquis previously supervised the photography unit, and currently oversees the community police and canine units, in addition to serving as the department’s chief firearms instructor. In 2016, he received both an Enfield Police Department Distinguished Service Medal and a Mothers Against Drunk Driving award.

Roszko joined the department in March 2014, and was accepted into the Capitol Region Emergency Services Team (CREST) in 2017, a service that continues in to this day. He has been a member of the department’s training cadre since 2015, instructing in multiple disciplines.

He has been a field training officer since 2020, helping the department train and develop new academy graduates in preparation for their transition to solo patrol duties. Roszko is a recipient of the Enfield Police Department Distinguished Service Medal.

“These promotions represent the next chapter in the development and ongoing professionalism of the Enfield Police Department,” Chief Alaric Fox said. “We are honored by the presence of these three officers.”
