The Latest On Batista Possibly Making A Full-Time Return To WWE, Talk Of A Hall Of Fame Induction

As we noted back in November, former WWE Champion Dave “Batista” Bautista revealed in an interview on Jim Ross’ “Ross Report” podcast that he recently had talks with Vince McMahon about a possible return to WWE.

Batista noted in the interview that he wants to come back to the company and work one final program with Triple H, and The Animal made it clear he does not want to return on a part-time basis, but rather he wants to work a full-time schedule. “I want to do some house shows, and I want to be a part of the program, man. I love it”, said Batista. “The one-off thing, the ‘cheap pop’ thing just doesn’t do anything for me.”

In the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that an issue with a Batista WWE return, on a full-time basis, could be his Hollywood schedule. Batista is doing very well for himself making movies, as he recently had roles in blockbusters such as “Bladerunner 2049” and the latest James Bond movie “Spectre”. The Observer noted that when a talent signs with WWE, the company owns that contract, so anyone else that wants to do business with that talent would first have to negotiate with WWE.

In related news, Batista was at one point discussed for the 2018 WWE Hall of Fame class, but he was removed from the list of potential inductee names as WWE feels his induction should be delayed if he plans to return for a final in-ring run.
