On today’s brand new episode of NXT UK, Rhea Ripley defeated Mae Young Classic winner Toni Storm in the finals of an eight-woman tournament to become the inaugural NXT UK Women’s Champion.
Technically, Ripley has already been champion for three months now, as she won the title back at the promotion’s late-August television tapings. She has been defended the title consistently in the United States traveling with the NXT roster, while flying out to the UK for television tapings where she has also defended the belt on multiple occasions.
At just 22-years-old, this is Rhea’s first major championship. She made her debut in the 2017 Mae Young Classic but was eliminated in the second round by Dakota Kai.

Ripley returned one year later to compete in the 2018 Mae Young Classic, and due to an injury suffered by Tegan Nox, actually made it all the way to the semifinals where she lost to tournament runner-up Io Shirai.
