After building the power of the German female volleyball , Giovanni Guidetti, probably the best coach working along with women, may abandon the team that he guided to significant successes not only on European stage, but also on the international level. As World of Volley noticed, Guidetti is ready for a new challenge, which could be coaching Italian national team.
“Black Eagles without Giovanni Guidetti” – a sentence like this seems to be pretty abstract for all volleyball fans in Germany, but as it turns out, such a variant is highly possible. The coach, who claimed two silvers medals at European Championships (2011, 2013, bronze of the World Grand Prix 2009 and gold of the European League (2013) with Germany, is tempted by Italian Volleyball Federation (FIPAV) to take control over women’s team of “Azzurre” and what is more, the very Guidetti is close to surrender this offer.
The Italian Federation aim is clear: “To have the best coach to return to the world elite”, so Guidetti is the most suitable candidate to come up this goal since not only is he able to lay a training process out, but he also perfectly takes advantage his players crowning glory or giving sometimes even something more, something undefined.
For instance, it is said that Giovanni Guidetti squeezed Germany like a lemon and achieved something special, extraordinary and unusual in sport because he made that all German players went together like puzzles accomplishing synergy and fantastic sports results. Much better results than were anticipated.
If this press report come true, Giovanni Guidetti will bump Marco Mencarelli from the post of Women’s Italian National Team head-coach. Mencarelli had been employed by FIPAV activists before the last season being pulled out from Juniors level competitions and this inexperienced ‘allenatore’ did not have a good press on Apennine Peninsula after “unpredictable” qualification to the World Grand Prix Final Six and poor appearance at Euro Volley 2013. Italy dropped out already in quarter-finals.
