Salman Khan Gets 5-Year Jail In Black Buck Poaching Case: Here Are The Legal Options For Him

The nation seems to be divided on the five-year jail term that Salman Khan got from the Jodhpur Jail today. While family, friends and fans are shocked at the verdict, there are people who are hailing it as justice. Meanwhile, the main complainant Bishnoi community is looking to movethe high court seeking punishment for the rest of the accused involved in the alleged killing of the blackbuck.

Salman – who is lodged in jail – and his family, however, would be weighing their options regarding how to go about the case. Salman will very likely apply for bail and also appeal against this verdict in the Rajasthan high court, just like he successfully did in his previous two related convictions, which were then overturned.

“Today’s case was the last of four cases against the actor related to the 1998 poaching incident in Jodhpur. Three cases – including today’s – were to do with violations of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, and a fourth was for an Arms Act violation. (He was acquitted in the fourth case last year in January)”, reports Timesofindia.com.
