The Saints’ revolving door of wide receivers continues.
On Wednesday, New Orleans cut ties with veteran Brandon Marshall one month after signing him. He had not played in a single game for the team — and has never played a playoff game with any team. That dreaded fact will continue to live.
The Saints originally inked Marshall, 34, after fellow veteran Dez Bryant went down in practice and tore his Achilles. The former Cowboy is now on injured reserve.
New Orleans has since claimed tight end Erik Swoope off waivers.
Marshall was cut from the Giants back in April and later signed with Seattle. Following six games with the Seahawks, he was released in October.
As for Bryant, who sparred with Marshall in the spring about joining Big Blue, he isn’t questioning the latest bump in his path.
“Things was just starting to heat up for me … I won’t question the man upstairs … this is the ultimate test … thank you everyone for the prayers,” Bryant tweeted last month.
