ROH TV taping results: Titles on the line, WOH tournament matches

Submitted by reader Lee Thomas from Ring of Honor’s television tapings in Nashville last night

– The Dawgs (Rhett Titus & Will Ferrara) defeated Ryan Nova & Eli Isom in a Future of Honor match

This was a dark match. TK O’Ryan & Vinny Marseglia were originally supposed to face Nova & Isom, but they said that Future of Honor matches are beneath them and left.

– ROH World Tag Team Champions Motor City Machine Guns went to a no contest with Beretta & Chuck Taylor

After about 10 minutes, The Briscoes interfered and focused their attack on Motor City Machine Guns. They tied Alex Shelley to the ropes and Jay hit Chris Sabin with a Jay Driller on a chair.

The Briscoes said they’re coming for the Tag Team titles. Sabin had to be helped to the back.

– Marty Scurll defeated Shane Taylor

Taylor had the referee distracted when he tried to use Scurll’s umbrella, then Scurll used powder to the eyes and rolled him up. This was a good match and Scurll was super over.

Scurll called out Punishment Martinez afterwards and told him he wants a title shot after Martinez beats Dalton Castle for the ROH World Championship. Martinez ended up chokeslamming Scurll.

– Cheeseburger defeated Caprice Coleman, Josh Woods, and Jonathan Gresham in a four corners survival match

This was a web-exclusive match for a future World Television title shot. Cheeseburger hit a Shotei on Coleman to win.

– Beer City Bruiser & Brian Milonas (w/ Silas Young) defeated Coast 2 Coast by DQ

Kenny King interfered a few minutes into the match when Young was getting heat on C2C when they were on the outside. The match was restarted and it was made into a six-man tag.

– Kenny King & Coast 2 Coast defeated Silas Young, Beer City Bruiser & Brian Milonas

King pinned Young with The Coronation.

– Mandy Leon defeated Madison Rayne in a Women of Honor Championship tournament match

Leon won with the Astral Projection.

– Cody defeated Matt Taven (w/ Vinny Marseglia and TK O’Ryan)

Cody pinned Taven with a roll-up after a low blow. There was lots of stalling by both and The Kingdom interfered a lot, which got them sent to the back before the pinfall.

The Kingdom beat down Cody and took his ring. Cody was very over.

– Kelly Klein defeated Jesse Brooks in a Women of Honor Championship tournament match

Klein hit a running knee to advance. She ended up losing quite a bit of her hair at one point, which I believe was extensions. They had a good match.

– ROH World Champion Dalton Castle (w/ The Boys) defeated Punishment Martinez to retain his title

Castle retained with a small package. The Boys took the brunt of Martinez’s anger after the match.

Castle cut a promo saying he’s the best and will be champion forever. He named Jay Lethal as his next challenger for the 16th Anniversary pay-per-view on March 9th.

– Brandi Rhodes defeated Karen Q in a Women of Honor Championship tournament match

Rhodes got the pin with a small package after faking a foot injury. She worked from underneath for most of the match after getting some offense to start.

– Jay Lethal defeated Flip Gordon

The Lethal Injection ended this one. It was a good match that was well worked.

– ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks & Hangman Page defeated So-Cal Uncensored (Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky) to retain their titles

So-Cal Uncensored actually initially won after using a title belt to knock out one of the Bucks, but Bully Ray came out and said he talked to Joe Koff and is tired that there’s no honor in ROH. He said he was now the enforcer and restarted the match.

From there, the champions retained with superkicks and the Meltzer Driver.

Cody and Scurll came out to close the show and film some stuff for “Being the Elite.” Scurll led the fans in singing “Man, I Feel Like a Woman” by Shania Twain in some fun stuff to send everyone home happy.
