Roger Federer: I don't think every tournament can be my last one

For , living in the present is key to keep competing at the highest level. Speaking to reporters after his win over Stefanos Tsitsipas, Federer said: I dont go through my career or my tournaments nowadays thinking Is this the last time I might play one? I just try to enjoy the moment for what it is.

Im just curious myself to see what might happen. These events, like the Laver Cup too and other team competitions, they get the players also closer together. Men and women, of course, we share a lot of tournaments together but its not the same when you play each other or when you share the same court.

Federer loves the Hopman Cup and he is sad that this tournament is set to disappear: I want to see international tennis here in Perth, if its Hopman Cup its great and if its not then its a pity and we had an unbelievable event here for so many years.

I love when they honor people like Harry Hofmann and Lucie Hoffman, they did such a wonderful job for so many years. The players have always enjoyed this event and lets hope it continues in some shape or form. Federer was also asked if he had learned something new about his own tennis from his match against Tsitsipas: I learned about his game, for my game I did not learn anything, for me its about maintaining a good level of play, I am happy where my game is at.
