Rafael Nadal is always a threat, warns Andre Agassi

In an interview to AS the eight-time Grand Slam winner commented on possibilities to win his 18th Grand Slam title at this years Australian Open. I did not see closely his first two matches, but if he is healthy he is always a threat, said Agassi.

He knows how to win. Probably he is one of the best competitors we have had, so I believe he has good chances. Asked who is the youngest player he likes the most, Agassi replied: I did not spend too much time looking at them.

Now in Melbourne I can see the younger guys that from home I do not have the chance to follow, because not all the matches are broadcasted on Tv, so I want to learn. This is a great opportunity to look at the Australians. They are funny to see.

About the new Davis Cup format, Agassi added: I understand the goals. You need to wait and see if it works or not. But I do not like changes that influence the sport history. Hopefully all the players compete, but you are forgetting about many cultures and communicaties that were benefiting a lot through the old system.

Personally, I do not like anything. It did not look bad to me that Wimbledon switched from white to yellow balls, that at the US Open now you have a free day between semifinals and finals… For me you have change levels that are more acceptable.
