CULVER CITY, CA — Police in Culver City arrested a suspect believed to have stolen a trailer full of bikes, scooters and helmets from a local charity just before the holidays.
Though they recovered some of the stolen goods, many of the bikes and scooters were already gone, so the police helped replace the items and assembled the bikes and scooters in time for Christmas and Hanukkah.
It all started Nov. 22 when a trailer belonging to the Walk ‘n Rollers nonprofit was stolen from a home on Patom Drive according Culver City Police Department spokeswoman Jennifer Atenza.

“Investigators knew locating the trailer would prove difficult, but they dug in and got to work. A few weeks later, the work paid off,” she said. “Thanks to the diligent work of detectives, there was a break in the case. An arrest was made, and the trailer was recovered.”
However, they quickly discovered that many of the many scooters, bikes, and equipment were gone. The officers turned to help from the Culver City Police Foundation donors and Target to replace the stolen gear. The officers set about assembling the bikes and scooters just before Christmas and Hanukkah.
