Cavallo has been part of the Haddon Township Police Department for 40 years, serving as chief since 2008. He was also a longtime member of the Haddon Township School District’s Board of Education for several decades and also served as township fire commissioner.

The lifelong township resident’s time on the school board included several terms as the governing body’s president. He retired from the board of education at the end of 2019.
