Novak Djokovic eyes Federer's 20 Majors:'I want to get as many as possible'

admitted that overcoming 20 Grand Slam titles is one of his goals. In 2018 the Serb equalled Pete Samprass 14 crowns, and now he can get to 15 by winning the Australian Open.

Only Rafael Nadal, who won 17 titles, and Federer have triumphed more times than him in Major championship clashes. I would lie if I say I didnt want to get to as high as Grand Slam wins number possible, said Djokovic in press conference after winning his fourth Mubadala World Tennis Championship title in Abu Dhabi defeating Kevin Anderson in a three-set final.

Thats definitely the objective, the desire, the goal. Those are probably the tournaments where I want to do my best for the rest of my career, however long thats going to be, and of course trying to also fight for No.

1 with everyone else. Commenting on the present and future of tennis, Djokovic added: Theres a new generation of players, Nadal and Federer are still there, [Andy] Murray and [Stan] Wawrinka are coming back, Zverev is the leader of this Next Gen mens tennis is as good as it can be in terms of competition, in terms of personalities, its good to see new face.

For me its going to be a big challenge and a big ask to stay at such a high level, its very demanding especially as a family man. Its different in the last couple of years. But I like a challenge in life because from the challenges we grow and we learn.

So I try to embrace whatever is in front of me, I have to accept it but Im working for the best. ALSO READ: Rafael Nadal: Worse players than David Ferrer won a Grand Slam title
