News on the Intercontinental Title Match at WM 34; Strowman is WWE's Contingency Plan

— Another topic of discussion on Wrestling Observer Live was the Intercontinental title situation and according to Dave Meltzer, it appears the previously speculated match between The Miz and Braun Strowman is off the books now.

— Miz appears headed for a three-way clash at WrestleMania against both Seth Rollins and Finn Balor, leaving Strowman’s participation up in the air. The suggestion is that WWE is keeping Strowman’s direction flexible and using him as a fall back plan for both Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns or it’s even possible he could be in the match to make it a triple threat.

— As far as Roman Reigns’ steroid controversy goes, WWE is said to be “concerned” but not flat out worried and they are proceeding as if Reigns will be fine for the WrestleMania main event but in case the situation goes south, Strowman will be at the ready to seamlessly step in as a contingency plan.
