Mauro Ranallo Announces He Will NOT Be Calling NXT Takeover Chicago

NXT head announcer Mauro Ranallo has announced that he will not be available to call this weekend’s NXT Takeover: Chicago special, due to a contractual scheduling conflict.

The self-proclaimed Bipolar Rock ‘n’ Rolla will instead be in Dallas for a Showtime Boxing event, headlined by Errol Spence Jr. (23-0) defending the IBF Welterweight Championship against Carlos Ocampo (22-0). There are actually three big fights that night, with Daniel Roman (23-2-1) taking on Mexico’s Moises Flores (25-0), and Javier Fortuna (33–2-1) vs. Adrian Granados (18-6-2).

Mauro will fly from Dallas to the United Kingdom to call the WWE UK Championship Tournament events on Monday and Tuesday at the Royal Albert Hall, and then will likely have to fly back immediately for next week’s NXT television tapings. He announced that Vic Joseph, who has really been impressing on WWE 205 Live over the past few months, will get a huge opportunity to shine as he fills in at Takeover alongside Nigel McGuinness and Percy Watson.

I’m blessed to have more than one job. Unfortunately, dates may conflict. Off to Dallas for a @ShowtimeBoxing tripleheader . That means I won’t be in Chicago for #NXTTakeOver You’ll be in good hands with @VicJosephWWE @McGuinnessNigel & @WWEPercyWatson 👊🙏
