Major Rematch Set for AEW Dynamite on New Year’s Day

While AEW Dynamite is taking a week off for Christmas, the company is wasting no time in loading up its ‘Homecoming’ return show on 1/1/20.

AEW has already added a blockbuster rematch to the show as Cody will go one-on-one with Darby Allin. This is a rematch from their AEW Fyter Fest match that really helped Put Allin on the map to a wider audience.

The two men battled to a 20-minute time limit draw on the PPV event, and never squared off again. However, it has now been confirmed that they will indeed be facing each other on the first episode of the new year.

The match came about after Darby and Cody teamed up and successfully defeated The Butcher and The Blade, handing the new tag team their first loss. Darby had agreed to team with Cody on the condition that if they won, he would get his rematch.
