Perhaps the Jaguars can “beat” hecklers, but certainly not NFL teams.
Jacksonville’s Leonard Fournette got heated with a taunting fan on Thursday, challenging him to come down to field level so the running back could beat him up, in footage shot by a fan and obtained by TMZ.
“Listen, you’re too old for that. I will beat your ass,” Fournette told the fan during the Jaguars’ 30-9 loss in Tennessee.
A pair of Jaguars employees dragged him away from the commotion, but Fournette was on a roll.
“You’re too old for that. Chill out. I’m not worried about you,” said the 23-year-old out of LSU. “You want to come down here? I’ll whoop your ass.”
The talk was more aggressive than the play, with Fournette rushing for just 36 yards on 14 carries. The Jaguars, who went to the AFC Championship a season ago, have fallen apart impressively, dropping eight of nine games to crater at 4-9 in a stunning turn to a promising season.
It’s been a particularly rough one for Fournette, who was ejected from a game against the Bills a few weeks ago when he scrapped with Shaq Lawson.
