Everyone knew LaVar Ball wasn’t going to take this sitting down.
Ball made a “guarantee” the Lakers will never win another championship after trading his son Lonzo to the Pelicans in part of a deal for Anthony Davis on Saturday.
“It will be the worst the move the Lakers ever did in their life, and they will never win another championship,” said Ball, who was at Drew League (a basketball pro-am) game watching his son LaMelo play. “Guarantee it. They’re going to regret it. I’m going to have fun with it. … I told you all it was crashing down. Now it completely crashed, but at least my son got out of the boat before the thing exploded.”
The outspoken Ball then said he told the Lakers they would have survived this upcoming armageddon if they had Lonzo and his two brothers, LiAngelo and LaMelo, on the same team.
“If you get the three Ball brothers, you’re going to survive this,” he said.

Magic Johnson — who surprisingly stepped down as Lakers president…
“If you let them go, ohhh, it’s going to be a cold day in hell.”
When asked about the Pelicans, Ball said he didn’t care about where Lonzo plays, adding it’s important for him to have the trust of an organization, which LaVar believed wasn’t the case in Los Angeles.
“It’s better to go somewhere where you can just play and do your thing, you got these guys instead of having all of these question marks behind you now.
“Once you don’t believe in him it’s kind of hard to come back and be like, ‘Oh, we believe in him now,’ and now we don’t know if you’re true or not. You had the first chance to believe in him and you didn’t, so guess what, time to go.”
