JFK’s Only Grandson Jack Schlossberg Went on an Intense Frozen Paddleboarding Adventure

John F. Kennedy’s only grandson Jack Schlossberg—who looks so much like his uncle JFK Jr. that we did a serious double take—spent the start of the new year doing something incredibly adventurous.

The 24-year-old ventured out into extremely cold temperatures for a paddleboarding excursion that looked pretty intense, though he didn’t look too bothered by it, even though some of his followers called him outright “insane” for it. He posted a picture of his fun time on Instagram with the caption, “What other choice did I have? HNY.”

Schlossberg is the son of Caroline Kennedy and the only grandson of JFK and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, and it seems he’s inherited his family’s lively spirit. He’s developed a deep affinity for paddleboarding trips in particular, even writing about a crazy race he participated in around Manhattan for charity last year for The Cut.

“I accidentally fell in the river trying to make some adjustments to my board. It’s true what they say: Nothing tastes quite like the East River,” he wrote of the competition, where he came in eighth in his division.

“I signed up for the race because I thought it sounded cool. “Paddle around Manhattan? Sweet, man! How hard could it be?” Of course, when I asked around, everyone said it was really hard and that I’d better start training.”

It seems that the training hasn’t stopped. What a way to ring in 2018.
