Jean-Georges to open private eatery in NYC’s priciest condo

Let them eat multicourse meals!

Jean-Georges Vongerichten will operate the residents-only restaurant at 220 Central Park South, The Post has exclusively learned.

Public records show permits for a 54-seat eatery on the second floor of the ritzy condo building on 59th Street near Columbus Circle.

Citadel hedge fund titan Ken Griffin’s $238 million purchase there earlier this year set a record for the most expensive home ever sold in the US, while rock star Sting just closed on a $65.7 million apartment in the building.

Neither Vornado, the building’s developer nor Vongerichten responded to The Post’s request for comment regarding the forthcoming restaurant. A resident of the building also told The Post that they were unaware of the Michelin-starred chef’s involvement in the project.

However, a tipster, who asked to be identified as Upper West Sider, spotted city Department of Health inspection records for 220 Central Park South with a phone number linked to Vongerichten.

A different source close to the building confirmed that the restaurant will indeed be operated by Vongerichten.

Private restaurants are not uncommon in the city’s top buildings. The Zeckendorf’s 15 Central Park West as well as Harry Macklowe’s 432 Park Ave. boast ritzy private eateries for residents only.
