Australian tennis player Jason Kubler has been added to the 2019 Priceline Pharmacy Kooyong Classic player field. The 25-year-old is set to make his second appearance at the popular Australian exhibition. The Australian debuted on the hard court of Kooyong last year.
Back then, Kubler was defeated in his lone match played at the event as Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka proved to be too much for the Australian. Kubler, ranked at No. 113 in the world, will use Kooyong as his last preparation for the Australian Open.
The Australian was granted a wildcard into the Brisbane International — but was forced to pull out of the event. Kubler tried to make the Sydney International main draw over the weekend through the qualifying event but lost in the first round to Nishioka.
Kubler is expected to be joined in Kooyong by Marin Cilic, Kevin Anderson, Nick Kyrgios, Richard Gasquet, Jack Sock, Bernard Tomic, Feliciano Lopez, Damir Dzumhur, Janko Tipsarevic, Filip Krajinovic and John Peers. Meanwhile, rising British star Katie Boulter has been added to the womens field as she replaces the injured American CoCo Vandeweghe.
