Jaime King Writes Touching Post Thanking BFF Taylor Swift for Her “Incredible Donation” to Hospital That Treated Her Son
Looks like Jaime King’s 1-year-old son might have a fairy godmother after all!
The Hart of Dixie star took to Instagram on Wednesday to reveal that her youngest child Leo, who celebrated his birthday in July, was born with a congenital heart defect and had to undergo a major surgery to correct his condition–and that she had godmother Taylor Swift to thank for a big donation made to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on behalf of the little tot to fund work done for congenital heart surgery.
“Dear all- at 20 weeks our son was diagnosed with Transposition of the Great Arteries AKA TGA. He had a major heart surgery, that was terrifying, and traumatic for us as parents, for our family,” the 37-year-old began her Instagram post, which shows a letter of thanks informing King and her husband that they had received Swift’s gift in honor of little Leo’s birthday in July.

“Only a few of our best friends knew. I felt that I had to protect him in fear of the unknown, fear he would not make it. We felt isolated & confused,” she continued in the heartfelt post.
The mom-of-two then thanked one of her best friends for her kind actions, writing, “@taylorswift does so many selfless acts that go unnoticed because she does them silently, from such a great place of unconditional giving. As the Godmother of Leo Thames for his birthday she gave an incredible donation to the people that saved his life Dr. Allistar Phillips and his brilliant team.”
She continued that the “Shake It Off” singer had also come to the ICU to comfort the parents and hold Leo during that tough period, and that she knew “that by giving back in this way would be the greatest gift one could give to us.”

The Sin City actress concluded, “Our gift back is to share our story that anyone that is going through this is not alone, we understand & want to stand up to bring awareness in the greatest way possible. Leo Thames is the strongest, healthiest boy because of this team. He will live a full and whole life & never have to look back.”
