Current champs GT shall face CSK in the IPL 2023 opener in Ahmedabad, the BCCI announced as the new schedule was unveiled, as per TOI.
This is the 16th edition and it begins on March 31 and the league stage will end on May 21.
All 10 franchises will play 7 games at home and 7 matches away.
There will be 70 league matches and 18 days shall see doubleheaders. The league stage is spread across 52 days at 12 venues.

The final is on May 28.
The evening games begin at 7:30 pm while the afternoon ones are from 3:30 pm.
PBKS will face KKR in the afternoon game in Mohali while LSG will take on DC in the evening game on April 1 – the 1st doubleheader.
The April 2 evening clash sees RCB face off vs MI.
The first three days see all 10 teams take part.
“Rajasthan Royals will play their first two home games in Guwahati before playing the remainder of their home games in Jaipur. Punjab Kings will play their five home matches in Mohali and then, play their last two home matches in Dharamshala against Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals respectively,” said BCCI’s release
The last league match is between RCB and GT on May 21.
