'I couldn't care less': Nick Kyrgios on leaving top 50 rankings

. This was reaction to the fact that he will leave the top 50 rankings next week. The Australian was the Brisbane International defending champion and he lost to Jeremy Chardy in the second round.

Analyzing his three-set loss to Jeremy Chardy in Brisbane, Kyrgios added: Jeremy is playing well. He served really well today. Again, I didnt do much else apart from serve. Yeah, I just — honestly, Im not really expecting too much.

Ive played more tennis in the last two days than I have the entire offseason. So, you know, its okay. I mean, obviously my focus shifts now to Australian Open, but Im just glad to have a couple days now just to chill out, get my body recovered and just go again, I guess.

I got plenty of time now. I got the Fast4 in Sydney, and I got plenty of time. Im not too concerned, but again, I know that I probably have to go and hit some balls and practice. Explaining the reasons behind his poor form, Kyrgios added: I think I just fell down for me in the offseason when I didnt really hit much.

Its tough to come back and play this level of tennis not really hitting and getting my iron from the back of the court at all. Every time I have a rally it feels foreign, and I dont really know what Im doing.

But, yeah, Im serving well. Thats a positive. And to go three sets with a guy, Jeremy, barely practising in the offseason, I take as a positive. So now I gotta get to the practice court, hit a lot of balls and move into the Australian Open.

Thats what I gotta do. ALSO READ: Rafael Nadal: Worse players than David Ferrer won a Grand Slam title
