Huskies land 5 on NSIC All-Academic Team list

BURNSVILLE, Minn. — The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference has announced the 2018-19 Winter All-Academic team with five St. Cloud State wrestlers being recognized.

To be eligible for the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence, a student-athlete must have a 3.60 cumulative GPA or higher, while NSIC All-Academic Team members must have a 3.20 cumulative GPA or higher. Additionally, student-athletes must be of sophomore, junior or senior academic and athletic standing and completed one full academic year at the institution.

The following are St. Cloud State NSIC Winter All-Academic wrestlers:

  • Kolton Eischens*, Jr. (Pierz, Minn.)
  • Adam Hedin, So. (Rosemount, Minn.)
  • Travis Swanson, Sr. (Cambridge, Minn.)
  • Brett Velasquez*, Sr. (Bennington, Neb.)
  • Joshua Velasquez, Jr. (Bennington, Neb.)

*Indicates member of the Academic Team of Excellence

Brett Velasquez (Bennington, Neb./Bennington) also earned the Conference’s prestigious Elite 18 Award.
