Gilroy Garlic Festival shooter said he attacked ‘because I’m very angry’: witness
A member of a classic rock band was preparing for an encore at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in California Sunday when he said he heard shots ring out and the gunman say he was “very angry.”
Jack van Breen, the singer of the band Tin Man, said he witnessed a man in a green shirt — and grayish handkerchief around his neck — wield what looked like an assault rifle and open fire into an area where hundreds of people were gathered near food stands,
The musicians dove under the stage and van Breen said he heard someone shout: “Why are you doing this?”
The chilling reply: “Because I’m very angry.”
One of the bandmembers told ABC7: “It appeared he was shooting into the largest group he could find.”
“You could smell the gunpowder, you could hear the screams,” he said.
Later, law enforcement officials came by and told the musicians and others hiding under the stage to come out with their hands up.

City Councilman Dion Bracco said at least three people were killed and 12 others were injured during the shooting at the three-day garlic celebration in Christmas Hill Park.
Gilroy Police said a gunman had been killed by police, but a second suspect possibly connected to the mass shooting remains at large.
