G1 Supercard: 2 ROH & NJPW Title vs. Title Matches, Bully Ray Open Challenge
Two big champion versus champion matches were made official for the big G1 Supercard event at Madison Square Garden in New York City during WrestleMania 35 Weekend following Friday night’s Ring Of Honor (ROH) 17th Anniversary pay-per-view in Las Vegas, Nevada.
At Friday night’s ROH 17 PPV show (Full Results Here), Villain Enterprises (PCO & Brody King) defeated The Briscoes in a No Disqualification Match to become the new ROH Tag-Team Championships. As the new ROH Tag-Team Champions, Villain Enterprises will now face IWGP Tag-Team Champions Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa in a title vs. title match at the G1 Supercard event, with both sets of titles on the line.
Additionally, after retaining his ROH Television Championship by defeating Shane Taylor at ROH 17 on Friday night, Jeff Cobb will move on to face NEVER Openweight Champion Will Ospreay in a title vs. title match at the G1 Supercard show, with both titles up for grabs.
In other notes for the G1 Supercard show, which will be co-promoted by ROH and New Japan Pro Wrestling, Dalton Castle challenged Rush after his victory over Bandido at ROH 17, and Bully Ray interrupted Mega Ran’s performance during the show to issue an open challenge to any pro wrestler in the business to face him in a New York City Street Fight at the G1 Supercard show at Madison Square Garden next month. Ray noted that the person he has in mind “knows that he’s talking about them.”
ROH and NJPW’s G1 Supercard event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 6th from legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York.
