Thirty-one tackles on the year, and Jerry Hughes wanted to make it 32.
The Bills defensive end fumed after a 21-17 loss in Miami on Sunday, confronting officials in the tunnel under Hard Rock Stadium and accusing one of calling him a derogatory term.
“You called me a bitch. I’ll catch you. I’ll catch you,” he shouted as he was pulled away from the officials, in video from Spectrum News Buffalo.
Hughes, a nine-year NFL veteran who had one tackle in the game, then went silent when addressing the face-off with the refs.
“I don’t recall that,” he told reporters, seemingly denying the altercation happened at all.
He was asked why he was angry.
“Who was angry? I was angry?” he answered.
According to ESPN, the NFL will be looking into video of the tunnel altercation.
