FIFA World Cup: How Indian Fans Prepared For The Biggest Competition On The Planet

FIFA World Cup 2022 began on November 20 and is set to end on December 18. It is the 22nd edition of the competition and fans all over the world were waiting for this moment since 2018. It was only the 2nd time Asia was hosting and Qatar was doing so for the first time ever. Unlike previous editions, this one was a winter one.  

Fans in India certainly found unique ways to prepare for the tournament. Let’s take a look at how they prepared for the FIFA World Cup:

1. Buying a house together

17 football fans in Kerala, full of World Cup fever, bought a house to watch games together. 

2. Cutouts of top stars 

When Lionel Messi’s giant cutout was rivalled by Brazil fans with that of Neymar, it was only a matter of time before Cristiano Ronaldo’s came up at the banks of Kerala’s Pullavoor river.
