Dwayne Johnson Reveals New Release Date for Disney’s ‘Jungle Cruise’ Film
Disney’s Jungle Cruise has officially been pushed back significantly, as Dwayne Johnson officially revealed a release date of July 24, 2020 today on social media. The film, based off the classic Disney theme park attraction of the same name, was originally supposed to be released on Oct. 19, 2019 – or exactly one year from today.
Jungle Cruise stars Johnson in the lead role alongside the incomparable Emily Blunt as well as Jesse Plemons (Friday Night Lights) and the legendary Paul Giamatti.
The film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (House of Wax, Orphan, Non-Stop) based on a screenplay from the team of John Requa and Glenn Ficarra (Bad Santa, I Love You Phillip Morris) with supervision from Michael Green (Blade Runner 2049, Logan, Alien: Covenant). It’s being produced in collaboration between Disney and Johnson’s own Seven Bucks Productions studio.
