Date Set For Greenwich's Annual Menorah Lighting, Hanukkah Celebration
GREENWICH, CT — The town and Chabad of Greenwich will hold its annual menorah lighting and Hanukkah celebration at 4 p.m. on Jan. 1.
The Greenwich Board of Selectmen last week unanimously approved a semi-road closure for the event, which routinely draws scores of people to the downtown area.
Chabad Program Director Shira Janette said Arch Street will be closed up until Bolling Place, as well as the right lane of Greenwich Avenue with the left side open for traffic.

“I felt like the traffic flow worked out well last year with this new plan. I felt like the left lane being open on Greenwich Avenue worked pretty well. It’s also Jan. 1 so I don’t think traffic will be super heavy.,” Janette told the selectmen.
