Following Rennes’ 2-1 victory against Dynamo Kiev, manager Bruno Genesio was pleased with his side’s performance and highlighted that his side’s result was deserved at home. He also highlighted that he was pleased that his side got the result, considering that much of the line-up consisted of very young players, as transcribed by L’Équipe.
“As for the rest, I really liked the face of my team, carried forward with a lot of participation from everyone […]. What is very rewarding for us is that we managed to win by finishing with six players born between 2002 and 2005. We’ve still got ome learning to do, for example Désiré Doué will have to improve his choices very quickly. But he has character and great confidence in himself, which allowed him to go and get the ball to score the goal. He’s a very young player, but to do what he’s been doing for some time, at his age, shows potential at a very high level.”
