Baker Mayfield wants nothing to do with Hue Jackson

Hue Jackson’s attempt to make nice with Baker Mayfield didn’t…

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports believes Hue Jackson, recently hired as a special assistant to head coach Marvin Lewis, could be in line to replace Lewis. But since the Bengals are the Bengals, Lewis isn’t going to be fired – he could even be promoted into a management role despite never winning a playoff game in 15 seasons.

According to the report, Jackson is highly thought of by Bengals owner Mike Brown from his previous time in the organization and Lewis’ time as a head coach is coming to an end.

“He is a favorite of Bengals owner Mike Brown, who tends to do things his own way, especially when it comes to coaching hiring and firings, and it would not be a surprise at all if this transition were to take place in 2019,” La Canfora wrote.

Apparently, Jacksons’ 3-36-1 record with the Browns isn’t a turnoff for Brown.
