SECAUCUS, NJ — A BBQ restaurant is moving into the old Carrabba’s location in Secaucus (485 Harmon Meadow Blvd.)
This is according to Mayor Mike Gonnelli, who said he could not recall the name of the restaurant. Renovations are currently underway inside the Carrabba’s, and workers have been seen going in and out.
Also, work continues inside the former mixed martial arts studio at 845 First Street as it continues to progress to opening as a grocery store.

They are trying for a September opening, said the mayor.
It’s a 20,000-square foot building with a warehouse in the back. The property is owned by Raj Patel, who owns many tracts of land in Secaucus, and owns Harmony Suites and the QuikDrugs Pharmacy on Meadowlands Parkway.

At first three Secaucus residents planned to turn it into a grocery store. But they backed out several years ago and a new independent grocery store owner (he owns three other small grocery stores) took over the lease. He still intends to open, said Mayor Gonnelli.
