Who wants hot and fresh fried chicken?

“Hot” as in “trending,” and “fresh” meaning “new,” because this fried chicken isn’t edible it all. It’s a cellphone accessory.

The Fried Chicken iPhone case, by Amazon tech gear retailer Bestosell, is a mobile case with a pop-socket attachment (which helps you hold your phone more securely) in the shape of a piece of fried chicken. It comes in two styles — drumstick and wing — and designed for many of the latest generations of iPhone, starting with version 5 and up to the iPhone X.

The almost $16 case is an uncanny facsimile for actual fried chicken, enough to make a hungry tummy grumble. You may not get lunch out of it, but the soft, transparent case is functional, with appropriate cutouts for volume buttons and ports, and has raised edges around the phone’s face to help guard against screen shatter.

A similar case, created by Meerkat, sold on Amazon way back in 2016 at $29.99 but has since apparently been discontinued in favor of cheaper versions.

Unfortunately, the downgrade in craftsmanship has resulted in one mostly happy customer, who gave the product four stars. Good thing she’s resourceful.

She writes, “Love it! Very realistic but the wing came off [after] one day . . . Nothing a little glue won’t fix.”
