Rising Australian star Alex de Minaur has been confirmed for the Millennium Estoril Open. The 19-year-old debuted at the Estoril event last season. De Minaur, ranked at No. 29 in the world, failed to make a deep run at the Portuguese ATP 250 clay-court event in his debut appearance.
Back then, the Australian beat Portugals Gastao Elias in the Estoril first round before he lost to fellow rising star Kyle Edmund in the round-of-16 respectively. De Minaur also featured the Estoril doubles event as he teamed up with Australian tennis legend Lleyton Hewitt.
The Australians beat star doubles duo Raven Klaasen and Michael Venus in their Estoril opener before there were beaten by eventual champions Edmund and Cameron Norrie in the quarter-final respectively. The Estoril event is set to feature two of one of the most talented players in the world as Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas is also expected to play at the tournament this year.
