Vegas is doubting Tom Brady for the first time in 68 games

The Patriots are going to their eighth straight AFC Championship, but they are seeing another streak broken in the process.

New England’s 41-28 demolition of the Chargers in Foxborough, Mass., in the AFC divisional round Sunday wasn’t enough to sway oddsmakers to start the Patriots as favorites next week.

They were instead installed as three-point underdogs against the Chiefs on the road in the AFC title game. It will be the first time in 68 starts by Tom Brady, including the playoffs, that the Patriots will be underdogs, according to BetDSI.

The last time Brady, who took a shot at his team’s critics Sunday, wasn’t favored in a game was Sept. 20, 2015, when the Patriots were two-point underdogs to the host Bills. New England won, 40-32. The Patriots, who were pick’em with the Texans in Week 3 of ’16, had been favored in 52 straight games before this week.

This also marks just the second time New England is a playoff underdog since 2007. The lone exception was the AFC Championship in 2014 against Peyton Manning and the Broncos (Denver -5). The Patriots lost, 26-16.
