The Jets can start making their vacation plans.
Todd Bowles’ team was clinging to slim playoff hope coming into this week, but that all went away without the Jets even taking the field.
After the Titans stormed back to break the Jets’ hearts last week, they finished the job Thursday with a 30-9 win over the Jaguars that mathematically eliminated the Jets from postseason contention.
Now, all that’s left is to play out the string, fire Bowles, and everyone can get started on their offseason early.
The Jets have now officially been eliminated from playoff contention. The drought is now 8 years, tied for 2nd-longest in team history. They also went 8 seasons from 1960-67. Longest drought was 11 seasons from 1970-80. #nyj
