Generally speaking, when the media gets a hold of Anderson Silva, he is asked the same typical, boring questions. However, when the folks at TMZ get a chance to go one-on-one with the former UFC Champion, we get to see a different side of “The Spider.”
During a recent red carpet event in Los Angeles, California, “The Spider” spoke to the celebrity-gossip website about a couple of topics you don’t generally hear the pound-for-pound legend discuss.
When asked for his thoughts on a potential boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, “The Spider” was hesitant to give an actual prediction as to who he feels would win such a bout.
“I don’t know, man. It’s a difficult decision,” said Silva in the TMZ interview, which you can watch via the video player embedded above. “[Floyd] Mayweather is a great fighter, [but] Manny Pacquiao is faster and strong …I don’t know. I think my opinion is that it’s a great fight for the sport.”
When pressed for an official prediction, Silva was still reluctant to go on record picking one guy or the other.
“I don’t know …Manny,” said Silva. “Yeah. He’s my friend and Freddie Roach is his coach, but Mayweather is a good guy and a good man for the sport.”
One guy Silva wasn’t shy about admitting inferiority towards is former WWE Superstar turned Hollywood A-lister, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
When asked if he feels he could take The Rock in a fight, Silva was quick to respond, saying Rock would beat him up.
