Keith Lee Reportedly Signs With WWE, Update on WALTER’s Status

It was reported earlier this year by the Wrestling Observer that independent wrestling superstars Keith Lee and WALTER would be joining WWE as member of the NXT brand in May. Although both superstars denied their WWE signings at the time, the recent announcement of Keith Lee’s final PWG appearance started rumors of him joining WWE once again. Lee will be competing for PWG for the last time ever on May 25th and he will also be facing Matt Riddle for the EVOLVE Championship at an EVOLVE show on May 20th in what is also being billed as the final match between the two wrestlers. So what exactly is going on with these two young wrestlers at the moment?
Keith Lee has apparently signed with WWE after all. PWTorch has reported that Lee will be starting his WWE career as soon as his independent dates are fulfilled at the end of the month. Lee has emerged as one of the most impressive young talents in the business today, and he got a chance to show what he is capable of in matches against Kassius Ohno during WWE’s Fan Axxess convention over WrestleMania weekend. The report notes that he received has mixed reviews from WWE officials and his success in NXT will depend on how eager he is to listen to the Performance Center coaches, as well as if he can tone down his reputation for simply performing spots. Lee should be joining the NXT roster very soon.
As far as WALTER is concerned, he has also become a huge star on the European independent wrestling circuit, and he also serves as the head coach of the wXw school in Germany. According to PWTorch, WWE has indeed offered him a contract, but WALTER still has yet to accept any sort of deal from the company. It has been noted that international signings typically take a bit longer to process, but it does not look like he is on his way to the Performance Center at the moment. The report was able to confirm that WALTER is still taking independent bookings all the way through September of this year, but perhaps a potential WWE signing is still in his future someday.
