James Ellsworth will remain as one of the most unlikely WWE Superstars of all time, but he could also be making the most unlikely WWE return of all time as well. Ellsworth had made several appearances on WWE programming throughout his career as an enhancement talent, but after facing the likes of Braun Strowman and AJ Styles in 2016, fans loved him so much that he truly became an underdog. Ellsworth was eventually signed as a full time member of the WWE roster before he spent his time with Carmella in a managerial role. After Ellsworth was released from WWE last year, several fans suspected that his time in the big leagues had come to an end for good, but that may not be the case after all.
It has been reported all week long that Ellsworth would be returning to WWE during the Money in the Bank pay-per-view this weekend. Although there have been a few reports contradicting that story and stating that he would not be coming back, PWInsider stands by their original report. In fact, they now claim that Ellsworth is definitely backstage in Chicago for tonight’s pay-per-view. Ellsworth is reportedly being hidden away in a bus so that no one will be able to spot him. Given that Carmella will be putting her Smackdown Women’s Championship on the line against Asuka, her biggest challenger yet, perhaps Ellsworth will return to help “The Princess of Staten island” retain her title.
Wrestling fans have seen some strange alliances over the years, but this one may just be the most bizarre out of them all. The Undertaker has not appeared on WWE programming at all ever since he defeated Rusev in a Casket Match at the Greatest Royal Rumble in April, but “The Deadman” did make a rare appearance over the weekend during a concert from hip-hop artist Post Malone. Malone is a huge fan of pro wrestling, so it was only fitting to see The Undertaker give the rapper a chokeslam during a backstage skit. As if that was not enough, The Undertaker made another appearance during the show when he joined Post Malone and 21 Savage on stage to destroy some guitars.
