MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling team will host the annual Dragon Open on Sunday, Dec. 4 at Nemzek Fieldhouse. The tournament will begin at 9 a.m. Brackets and results will be on Trackwrestling.
In addition to MSUM, teams slated to send wrestlers to the event are Mary, St. John’s, North Dakota State, Jamestown, Northland Community and Technical College, Rochester Community and Technical College, Ridgewater Community and Technical College and Itasca Community College.
About MSUM
The Dragons are 1-1 in duals after beating Northland CTC 54-0 on Nov. 22. MSUM recorded five wins by fall in the dual win.
Senior Blake Bosch has a 10-1 record at 133 pounds so far on the season to lead the Dragons and is ranked fourth in the nation. He is seven wins away from 100 for his career. Bosch is looking for his third straight title at the Dragon Open; he was runner-up as a freshman in 2013.
Sophomore Adam Blees has an 8-3 record at 174, he is aiming for his second straight Dragon Open title. Sophomore Austin May has an 8-4 record at 184 while sophomore Jared Goldsmith has an 8-5 record at 125 pounds. Senior Isaac Novacek (157) and sophomore Dylan Connell (149) are each 6-4 on the season while senior Nader Abdullatif has a 5-5 record at 285 pounds.

Last Time Out…MSUM rolls to Shutout Win
The Dragons last competed on Nov. 22 when they defeated the Northland Community and Technical College Pioneers 54-0 at Nemzek Fieldhouse. The Dragons received five pins on the night, with sophomore Kristain Vazquez, sophomore Dylan Connell, senior Isaac Novacek, sophomore Cody Anderson, and senior Nader Abdullatif picking up pins.
The Dragons picked up two wins by forfeit at 125 and 133 to take an early lead, and never looked back as the next three matches all ended in first period pins. The Dragons also picked up two straight pins at the end of the match from Anderson and Abdullatif to end the dual with a big win.

After the Dragon Open, the Dragons will host Division III power Augsburg on Thursday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. before heading to Las Vegas for the Vegas Duals on Dec. 19. After that, they will begin NSIC matches in January.
