Tennis – Former World No. 1 and former World No. 2 join former Top 10 stars James Blake and Mardy Fish for the Orcale Champions Cup – a one-night event to be held at the Newport Beach Tennis Club on Saturday January 26th.
The event is a part of the Oracle Challenger Series tournament to be held between January 21st to January 27th at the Newport Beach Club. The event will feature two semi-finals of one set each with the winners playing a one-set championship match the same night.
The Oracle Champions Cup will be played on the final weekend of the Oracle Challenger Series event, which aims to provide opportunities for up-and-coming American tennis players to secure ranking points and prize money. The top two American male and female players at the end of the Oracle Challenger Series event will receive wild cards into the 2019 BNP Paribas Open, which will be held at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, where Haas is the Tournament Director.
The Oracle Champions Cup is part of the Invesco Series QQQ event. The 2019 Invesco Series QQQ is a competitive tennis circuit featuring tennis icons such as Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, Andy Roddick, John McEnroe, Jim Courier, Michael Chang, James Blake, Mark Philippoussis, Marat Safin, Mardy Fish, Lleyton Hewitt, Mats Wilander, and Tommy Haas.
Each tournament sees four champions compete in one set semi-finals and culminates with the winners meeting in a one-set championship match. James Blake finished at the top of the series last year with Haas coming in at No. 2.
