Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios insists that there is no bad blood between him and fellow compatriot Bernard Tomic ahead of their Priceline Pharmacy Kooyong Classic clash. The relationship between the two Australian tennis stars appeared to be damaged after Tomic accused Kyrgios of faking an illness to avoid playing for Australia in a Davis Cup tie against the United States in 2016.
During his contribution for The Players Voice, Kyrgios said that Tomic lost his way. Yet, the two appear to be in good terms ahead of their first-ever clash against each other. Kyrgios and Tomic will meet on the hard courts of Kooyong this Wednesday as part of their preparation for the Australian Open.
Im looking forward to seeing him and catching up with him and playing against him, Kyrgios told AAP after beating Rafael Nadal at FAST4 Showdown. Were fine. I dont have any bad blood with him at all.
Its another chance to get some preparation before the Oz Open. Obviously I was pretty excited when I got drawn against him – were good mates so to get out there, I know what hes going to bring, its going to be fun.
Its going to be laid back so, yeah, its perfect preparation for me. Kyrgios also added that there is no doubt both of us want to win. Also read: Sydney International more than just tennis tournament for Jordan Thompson
