Anti-tobacco laws in Canada and France have compelled Scuderia Ferrari to drop its ‘Mission Winnow’ branding on its SF90 contender for Formula 1’s two upcoming races.
The Italian outfit stripped its 2019 car of its ‘Mission Winnow’ markings in Melbourne following a threat of litigation from Australia’s national health department which considered that the branding was but a disguised promotion for tobacco company and long-time Ferrari sponsor Philip Morris.

The team deleted all visible references to the brand on its car and team kit, replacing the branding with a special 90th Anniversary logo.
Ferrari will follow the same procedure in Montreal and at the Circuit Paul Ricard next month, but the House of Maranello has said that “Mission Winnow remains the title sponsor for Scuderia Ferrari in 2019”.
