Dad goes viral doing daughter’s cheerleader moves from stands

Move over dance moms, this cheer dad is A-W-E-S-O-M-E.

Lots of dads go to high school football games to cheer for their kids on the field, but one father of a cheerleader in Yorktown, Va., took things to a whole other level.

Rolland Holland sprung up from his seat in the stands and actually performed the York High School cheer team’s opening cheer, complete with enthusiastic thigh slaps, handclaps and a high kick.

The only thing missing from his spot-on routine was a set of pompoms.

While fans sitting near him seem pretty blasé about the performance, the internet is anything but. Scott Willard, the dad of a Yorktown football player, filmed the routine, posted it online and social media went crazy over the performance.

The video, tagged with the hashtag “CountryNeededThis,” got more than 3.7 million views, with adoring comments such as “He’s got the moves,” and “This is you,” tagging other loving dads and fans.

Willard captioned the now-viral video, “I now see a movie called ‘cheer dads’ starring Will Ferrell.”

Holland’s team spirit must have counted for something: his daughter’s team, the Falcons, won the game, 35-28, the local Fox affiliate reported.

Holland’s “dad of the year” moves came in stark contrast to Wednesday’s outrage over T.I.’s comments about his daughter, Deyjah Harris.

The Atlanta rapper bragged on a podcast that he annually takes her to the gynecologist to get her hymen checked — a debunked method of checking for virginity.

“We have yearly trips to the gynecologist to check her hymen,” he said, implying that if she were sexually active, the membrane wouldn’t be intact. The comments were roundly trashed by other celebrities, experts and horrified fans.
