In an interview to Blick, the CNN journalist commented on her emotional interview with in Dubai last month. Recalling Peter Carters death, the Swiss started crying.
The video got very viral and she revealed something interesting. It was an amazing interview, I had never felt something like this, she admitted. Reactions were really overwhelming. But because of Roger, not me, I became an intermediate of his unbelievable fanbase.
You cannot believe how many people love Federer. CNNs tweet was seen by more than 1.4 million people. What was your reaction when Federer, speaking of Carter, started crying? Panic! Because it was not a normal situation – I was feeling responsible, so I apologised straightaway.
Probably you wanted to hug him… Probably I am the wrong person as a journalist. But its true, I was feeling as a human, not as a interviewer, and I wanted to be respectful. It was obviously very tough for him. What you do not see on our post: we had to interrupt the interview, give him some time.
His reaction was really surprisingly intense. He was not crying like Andy Murray but he was really touched. Typical of Roger: if he does something, he does it right. How did they continue after the cry? You understood that he is a happy and funny guy.
He would become the same again, he took it with happiness and joked about it. Do you remember the interview to CNN, where I almost cried and I could not stop crying? Roger said: What happens with you? Either you make me laugh or cry! ALSO READ: Rafael Nadal: Worse players than David Ferrer won a Grand Slam title
