Doctor who performed brain studies for sex cult Nxivm loses his license

The doctor who performed controversial brain studies for the sex cult Nxivm had his license revoked by the New York State Health Department, a report said Thursday.

Dr. Brandon Porter, who performed unsanctioned research including a “fright study” for Nxivm, had his license taken away due to his work for the Albany-based cult, according to NBC New York.

Porter resigned as a general practitioner at Albany’s St. Peter’s Hospital in 2017 after the allegations about his work with Nxivm became public, the report said.

The cult’s “Grandmaster” Keith Raniere, 58, was convicted of sex trafficking in June following a harrowing seven-week trial.

During the trial prosecutors painted him as a calculating predator who led a secret master-slave group in which women were branded with his initials, starved and ordered to have sex with him.
