SAYVILLE, NY — A Long Island animal sanctuary that saves the lives of countless abandoned pets is aiming to build a new rescue home to help more animals.
Carol’s Senior Pet Sanctuary, a no-kill, non-profit shelter located in Sayville, has provided a safe and loving environment for dogs who have been abandoned, abused, or neglected, since 2013.
Owner Michael Genovesi has taken animals from all over, even as far as Mexico. After years of successfully saving so many lives with limited sources and space, Genovesi has created a GoFundMe with the goal of building a state-of-the-art rescue space to house more animals and enhance medical services, among many other things.

“If you know Michael, you know his life revolves around these animals. For years, Michael has selflessly sacrificed his own lifestyle for the sake of the dogs he loves so much.
“To ensure success in this critical expansion, Michael has brought in a team of experienced volunteers specializing in Commercial Real Estate and Animal Shelter Design to guide this process.”
